A success that is worth double the one obtained by BMX Week Padova set up by Panther Boys Padova of the President Ezio Piovesan. In fact, the Paduan club is rewarded not only by the results obtained by the riders on the home track that allowed the Panther Boys to finish in first place in the overall club ranking and in second place in the club ranking among the very young, but also by the numbers of a week of great BMX experienced inside the Filippo Raciti Park.

Even on the weekend dedicated to the 9th Pietrobelli Electronics Trophyvalid for the 9th and 10th round of the Italian BMX Circuit, saw the presence of approximately 1,000 athletes from all over Europe. Extraordinary numbers managed impeccably by the Panther Boys Padova staff, thanks to which the event took place regularly, without delays, blessed by a splendid sunny weekend.

The commitment of President Ezio Piovesan’s men was applauded on Sunday morning by the Councilor of the FCI Regional Committee of Veneto, Vittorino Gasparetto, the Olympic Champion Silvio Martinello and the CT of the Italian BMX National Team, Tommaso Lupi: for them there was also the opportunity to see the Mini-Panther nursery in action, with children aged between 4 and 6 who paraded on the track to the applause of the large audience present. The Sports Councilor of Padua, Diego Bonavina, was absent with justification due to an acute form of flu that kept him away from the competition field, but he made his closeness to the organizers felt by telephone.

For the home team, it is worth mentioning the excellent performance of Jacopo Turato who confirmed himself as the leader of the Italian BMX Circuit among the Under 40 Cruisers; in the same category a good third place for Francesco Derme in the Saturday test. The Cruiser Over 40s did equally well, with Matthew Morello who won the Sunday race and Piero Piovesan who finished in second place on Saturday’s race and was stopped in the final the following day only by a fall.

Among other placings, they climb onto the podium Hector Candiotto (3rd among the G4), Nicholas Morello (3° tra i G5), George Boschini (1st among the G6 in the Saturday race and 3rd in the Sunday race), Emanuel Tiozzo (3rd among the 2nd year beginners) and Anna Grigoletto (3rd among the Open Women). Also good were the fourth places of Nicholas Rossetto among the G6, of Edward Disarotwice fourth among the first year rookies, and of Gianluca Morello among the second year rookies.

They also got to the finals Edward Guglielmi among the G1, Joel Tobaldo April and G3, Lorenzo Guolo between the G6 and Riccardo Gobbin among the second year rookies.

“It was an intense week that ended in an extraordinary way with this last weekend of competitions. Thanks to the help of our volunteers and the collaboration of all the clubs present, we have combined the promotion of BMX at a youth level with high-level competitions in an Olympic perspective. The Mini-Panther parade was one of the most exciting moments of this week because it allowed us to enhance the great work done daily by the technicians of our school who teach the basics of coordination and skills necessary to then approach the pre-competitive and competitive phase. Finally, a round of applause goes to all our riders who have asserted themselves on the track and have given us the joy of first place in the club rankings: an excellent sign of growth also in view of the Italian Absolute Championship that awaits us next weekend in Rivignano” the President commented at the end of the demonstration Ezio Piovesan.
