Following the formal installation of the new Council yesterday, Councillor Enrico Bussalino, with responsibility for Autonomy, met this morning with the Veneto Region, together with the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, to continue the common path and agree on the next steps in the process of requesting and obtaining the greater competences that Piedmont has requested in the context of differentiated autonomy.
On Friday morning, during the first meeting of the Regional Council, Councillor Bussalino will submit to President Cirio and the members of the council the draft of the letter to be sent to the President of the Council of Ministers and the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies.
In the past, before the law was approved, Piedmont, Veneto and Lombardy had moved together on this front. “We want to continue this path – says Councilor Bussalino -; for this reason I am already working with the offices to prepare the dossier with which Piedmont will ask the Government to transfer the competences on the 9 matters that do not provide for the determination of the Lep, in order to move as soon as possible to the definition of the agreement and the operational phase”.
The 9 subjects that can be transferred to the Regions without having to wait for the determination of the Essential Levels of Performance are: international relations and relations with the European Union of the Region; foreign trade; professions; civil protection; supplementary and integrative pensions; coordination of public finance and the tax system; savings banks, rural banks, regional credit institutions; regional land and agricultural credit institutions; organization of the justice of the peace.
