REGGIO EMILIA – Stuck in the middle of the night at the station because the replacement bus that was supposed to continue the journey to Parma was not there. A disservice that has happened at least twice in recent days amid complaints from passengers, who also take it out on taxis that are said to be unavailable.
But let’s see what happened. On the night between Saturday and Sunday last, the regional train that arrived in Reggio from Bologna at 1:39, for maintenance work on the line, was supposed to be continued on a replacement bus for Parma departing at 1:55, as also communicated via the loudspeaker on board. However, there was no sign of the vehicle. So, many passengers, about thirty in all, had to wait for the first available train, around 5:30. The bus, in reality, had been made available – Trenitalia reported – but the driver of the vehicle had parked in a different spot than the one agreed and indicated. The same Fantozzian situation also occurred on the night between June 23 and 24, Scorci.
As mentioned, the complaints affected not only the railway service, but also the taxis which, according to some travellers involved in the incident, were unavailable: “The taxis were there and were transporting passengers from Reggio and Parma”, explains Lorenza Savaresepresident of the Reggio Emilia taxi drivers consortium.
Meanwhile, speaking of trains, be careful because the grassroots unions have called a national strike for next weekend, starting at 9pm on Saturday 6th and ending at 9pm on Sunday 7th July.
