Videocittà, the festival of vision and digital culture conceived by Francesco Rutelli and with the creative direction of Francesco Dobrovich, returns to Rome from 5 to 7 July with a rich program of events. As part of its program, the festival is pleased to present Agorà PRO & EXPO, a professional networking program and an exhibition area dedicated to site-specific projects by the best talents in the digital creative industry.

Agorà PRO: two days of networking and learning

The Agorà PRO program will take place over two days, July 5 and 6, and will host young creatives and industry leaders from all over the world. The event, coordinated by Guido Pietro Airoldi and curated by Anna Lea Antolini, will take place at the evocative Gazometro di Roma at Opificio 41 from 10:00 to 18:00. Here, participants will have the opportunity to discuss Artificial Intelligence, new technologies, immersive experiences and VR through masterclasses, workshops and round tables.

Among the guests of this edition, there are important names such as Chiara Bertini of the MAXXI Foundation, Giuliano Danieli of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Bakhuys Saskia of the Musée d’Orsay, Dorothy Di Stefano of the Noor Riyadh Art & Light Festival and the performer Blanca Li. The event represents a unique opportunity for professionals in the creative and cultural sector to come into direct contact with major international realities and exchange ideas and knowledge.

Agorà EXPO: a space for innovation and interaction

The Agorà EXPO area, located on the ground floor of the Gazometro G3, will be open all weekend until midnight. Thanks to the support and development of Nina Stricker and NFTcc, this space confirms itself as a point of reference for exchange and networking between the local creative industry, leading companies in the sector and talent scouts. Creative studios, art galleries, collectives and established artists will find here the ideal spaces to present immersive, interactive and introspective installations.

Among the installations present, the large kinetic mechanism TORSION by KINETICShow, PRESENCE by Stefano Fake & The Fake Factory, and REFORMED AI n.15 (Cyber-Oneiric Bioma) by multimedia art pioneer Lino Strangis stand out. The latter will be accompanied by a live performance scheduled for Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 pm. Other noteworthy works include VAINGLORY by Max Magaldi, a large audiovisual sculpture composed of 130 smartphones, and the proposals of MOULAB COLLECTIVE with the project LIMES.

Digital Innovation and Artistic Reflections

The exhibition area of Agorà EXPO also offers spaces for deep reflections on the relationship between man and nature and between existential and digital. Among the works on display, CALL JUNG curated by Eleonora Angiolini for Contemporary Attitude with the medium-length film “Internet” by Sanjeshka, and the danceable installation “Do you wanna dance with me” by Hannes Egger. In addition, the young collective Alterego Digital Lab / Mitilanti will present “Metapoetry”, a VR experience and live reading on Sunday 7 July at 7:30 pm.

On the hyper-technological side, NFTCC (Non-Fungible Token Community Conference) presents four spaces supported by crowdfunding and crowdsourcing initiatives of the Sewer platform. These spaces explore themes such as digital art, interaction design and AI, with installations by Torin Blankensmith, Andrea Bucci and David Oxley, and exhibitions by the international gallery NFT Superchief. The exhibition “Muted Messages” by Brian Cattelle, curated by Pauline Faieff, and the area dedicated to AI art with “Artificial Artist” by Botto are just some of the innovative proposals that close the circle between physical and digital.
