Cgil Salerno with all categories will be present in Latina on July 6th, for a large national demonstration against the gangmaster system and exploitation in the fields. The procession will start at 9:30 from via Vittorio Cervone and then arrive in Piazza della Libertà, where the general secretary of Cgil, Maurizio Landini, will conclude the demonstration.
A mobilization that follows the regional one of last June 22nd proclaimed, on the occasion of the agricultural sector strike, immediately after the brutal death of Satnam Singh.
«Satnam’s death cannot be nullified by the continued attitude of denial regarding the issues of safety and dignity at work – explains Antonio Apadula, Secretary of the Cgil Salerno-. We who belong to this province know the gangmaster system very well and have been fighting for years to change the state of things. Our presence will be massive and significant for Satnam and for all those who, even today, have as their only prospect dying of work under the greenhouses, in the burning fields, often for a few coins. It is time to tear down the wall of mega-profit to create working conditions that guarantee dignity to everyone, without distinction”.
