BRINDISI – The Carabinieri have given a face and a name to the perpetrator of the attack that took place on April 9, 2024 in via Orazio Flacco, Commenda district of Brindisi. On that occasion, the victim lost the use of an eye. The military personnel of the operational and radiomobile unit of the local company executed a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Brindisi, Vilma Gilli, against a 27-year-old from Brindisi.
The young man was taken to prison. He is under investigation for this episode in which the victim also suffered several injuries on his body and face. The investigations, which were carried out under the constant direction of the local prosecutor – pm Alfredo Manca -, began immediately after the victim was admitted to hospital and allowed the perpetrator to be identified thanks to some testimonies, the presence of video surveillance systems and the subsequent confession of the suspect himself.
The arrest of the 27-year-old dates back to yesterday, Monday 1 July 2024. The victim – the 50-year-old from Brindisi VM – had been taken to the emergency room of Perrino that day by acquaintances. The situation immediately appeared serious. After the operation, the man had been admitted to the Ophthalmology department of the Brindisi hospital, entrusted to the care of health workers. The alleged crime is aggravated personal injury.
