TORINO – The magic of open-air cinema returns to brighten up the Turin summer with the return of ImbarKinothe renowned movies Festival which will be held on the lawn in front of the Imbarchino, in the heart of the Valentino Park. From July 7th to August 11thsix unmissable evenings await film enthusiasts, with free screenings of auteur films, both Italian and international, carefully selected by Davide Oberto, historic curator of the “Documentaries” and “Italiana.corti” sections at the Turin Film Festival.

A cultural proposal in the green

Organized by Imbarchino and Banda Larga APS, with the support of the City of Turin, District 8, Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Va Lentino SRL Società Benefit, ImbarKino represents a unique experience that intertwines cinema, music, and art, making the most of the evocative setting of the Valentino Park. For years, the large lawn overlooking the Po has been transformed into an evocative open-air cinema “hall,” welcoming thousands of spectators eager to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of the evening screenings.

Event schedule and details

The show starts on Sunday July 7th with “About Last Year” (2023) by directors Dunja Lavecchia, Beatrice Surano and Morena Terranova, followed by “Gasoline Rainbow” (2023) by Bill and Turner Ross and “Smoke Sauna” (2023) by Anna Hints, winner of the European Film Awards. Subsequent appointments include “Ouroboros” (2015) by Basma al-Sharif, “Cocoricò Tapes” (2023) by Francesco Tavella in collaboration with the Seeyousound festival, and the classic “Comizi d’amore” (1963) by Pier Paolo Pasolini.

Entrance and useful information

All films will be screened in their original language with Italian subtitles, while Italian films will have English subtitles where possible. Screenings will start at 9:00 p.m., with the possibility of recovery in case of bad weather. August 18th and 25th. L’Entrance is free and does not require advance booking.
