Salerno Takes Off: New Airport Opens with Two Records
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport is preparing for take-off with two records already achieved: respect for the construction deadlines and a number of flights and airlines higher than those of airports already operating for years.

As reported today by “Il Mattino”, the works were completed in time for the inauguration, scheduled for July 11. The Volotea flight from Nantes is scheduled to land at 8:25, followed at 8:35 by the EasyJet flight from Milan Malpensa. The official “Salerno takes off” ceremony will be held at 11:30 in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, the Governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca, the President of ENAC Pierluigi Di Palma, the CEO of F2i Fabrizio Ravanelli and the President of Gesac Carlo Borgomeo.

More flights and stopover companies already active: Salerno already boasts a higher number of flights, national and international destinations and airlines than airports such as Crotone, Cuneo, Foggia, Forlì, Parma, Perugia and Rimini, despite being a new airport.

Target 200,000 passengers by 2024: A goal that can be achieved thanks to flights by EasyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and UniversalAir (the latest company to join, with a connection to Malta operated with a Dash 8-400), which will be joined by a program of charter flights by Horizont Air, Luxwing and Skyup.

13 regular routes and 7 charters: The route network includes 13 regular destinations (Bergamo, Cagliari, Catania, Milan Malpensa, Turin and Verona for Italy; Basel, Berlin, Geneva, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Malta and Nantes for international flights) and 7 charter routes for holidays.

July 12: The engines of general aviation are turned on again: Salerno has always had an important vocation in this sector and on July 12th private flights will resume.
