“Young people on the move: free to leave, free to return?” is the title of the first Festa di Avvenire organized in Sardinia, which will take place on July 12 at 9:30 pm in the Church of Nostra Signora di Bonaria (via Ichnusa, 2A) in Costa Rei (Cagliari).

During the evening, the topic of international mobility and the influence of this mobility on the economies of a country will be addressed: the meeting will be introduced and moderated by Mark Girardodirector of Avvenire. Speakers will be Rosario Aitalafirst vice president and judge of the International Criminal Court, the archbishop of Cagliari and general secretary of the CEI Joseph Baturithe envoy of Avvenire In the Excavationand the CEO of the ECA Italia Group AAndrea Benigni.

Starting from the speakers’ experience, we will try to answer a series of questions including: what are the reasons that generate migratory flows of young people towards other countries? Where are there better opportunities and protections, and why? How likely and possible is it to return after a certain period abroad? What should politics do to encourage the return of the so-called “brain drain”?

The Avvenire event in Costa Rei is part of the calendar of the usual annual summer events that resume at the end of June in some dioceses under the banner of public dialogue on the major themes of current affairs, culture and faith.
