L’AQUILA. No delays in the paving works of the last stretch of Corso Federico II. This is assured Franco Rosathe head of the contracting company: «By July 27, as per the contract, the last step that goes from Piazza Duomo to Villa Comunale will also be returned to the city». The entrepreneur thus intends to clarify the latest ordinance extending the changes to traffic in the area surrounding Piazza Duomo. «The municipal ordinance», explains Franco Rosa, «refers exclusively to the management of vehicular traffic by the traffic police and has nothing to do with the contractual deadlines fully respected. Workers, technicians and collaborators have operated with admirable dedication, maximum availability and commitment in all weather conditions and with the care to manage all the various objective interferences of the community and the needs of individual traders, despite such care to date no executive delay can be attributed to us, data easily and objectively found in the documents present in the Transparent Administration section of the Municipality of L’Aquila».
The deadlines were therefore respected despite the stoppage of work caused by a complaint from a trader who had seen his bar tables hit by drilling debris, and customers consequently discouraged from approaching; the many executive problems that emerged during the work and the partial work suspensions imposed due to third parties: passage of the Giro d’Italia ebike, removal of poles and electrical lines present from the construction of the underground services. “For the record,” continues the company manager, “before each start of work together with the administrators, the works management, the Rup, we participated in meetings with the traders, with the aim of collaborating peacefully and promptly managing all the executive interferences of approximately 170 commercial activities, in addition to the homes and businesses located in the immediate intersections, present along the entire central axis.”
The execution times for the entire work indicated by the company, 365 days, were largely respected. Of these: 93 days were used for Corso Vittorio Emanuele-Via San Berardino intersection (work started on 05/09/2022 and finished on 07/12/2022); 139 days for the Corso Principe Umberto-Fontana luminosa construction site (work started on 17/02/2023 and finished on 06/07/2023); finally, the remainder of the contractual times for the Corso Vittorio Emanuele-Via dei Giardini section is 133 (work started on 16/03/2024 and is currently being completed). “These clarifications”, concludes the company manager, “are therefore necessary in order to highlight the uniqueness of the intervention, the respect of the contractual timing, of the executive methods adopted during the work regardless of the color of the flooring, the subject of much discussion on social media. The choice of white is in fact attributable solely to the municipal administration and the Superintendency”. (c.d.s.)
