– The Judicial Police Section of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Asti executed on the afternoon of 28 June 2024 the order of precautionary custody in prison issued by the Court of Asti against the forty-seven-year-old EA
This is an aggravation of the precautionary measure of house arrest to which the woman was already subjected as accused of the crimes of defrauding an incapacitated person to the detriment of the elderly woman, as well as self-laundering for having used the sum of 149 thousand euros, proceeds of the aforementioned defrauding of an incapacitated person, in economic and entrepreneurial activities in such a way as to concretely hinder the identification of their criminal origin.
The aggravation of the coercive measure was requested by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Asti following investigations that allowed to ascertain the violation of the provisions of the prohibition of the person under house arrest to communicate with third parties.
The criminal trial, as is known, is ongoing and the next hearing is scheduled for July 4, 2024.
For these reasons, it is highlighted that elements of a contrary nature to those gathered up to now could emerge in the future, therefore in favour of the accused, who is to be presumed innocent until a final sentence of conviction is pronounced.
