The investigations had been ongoing since the spring of last year, when the Carabinieri of the Navacchio Station, in the municipality of Cascina, began to notice a suspicious coming and going in a house along the Tosco Romagnola.
This is how the “Oriente” operation began, with the first investigations that pushed the Prosecutor’s Office to delve deeper into the results of the checks. In the end, the soldiers, part of the Pontedera Company, identified two homesowned by the same person, one located in Cascina and the other in Castelfranco di Sotto. In both, as reconstructed by the Carabinieri, the practice of prostitutionwith explicit ads that also appeared on dedicated websites.
Thanks to’installation of cameras outside homesthe military were also able to document the constant influx of customers, while with the telephone interceptions on the numbers indicated by the advertisements themselvesthe Carabinieri have reconstructed the accusatory framework.
In addition to the owner of the two properties, rented among other things to people unrelated to the business, the military also identified a woman of Chinese originwho was indicated as the manager of the telephone utilities and who was in charge of booking sexual services. Finally, a second man, believed to be the woman’s collaborator, who dealt with logistical issues. According to the Carabinieri, the turnover of the two houses would thus be around 45 thousand euros per month.
Finally, on the basis of the investigative findings and the assessments of the competence of the public prosecutors, the investigating judge of the Pisa Court issued acustody order personal and real charges against the three subjects under investigation: the two men were placed under house arrest, while the woman ended up in prison.
