Access to Varese: the call for tenders for the extension of Via Selene is open

VARESE – New road works in sight in the process of redeveloping access to the city. In fact, the tender for the awarding of the works of extension of via Selene and for the creation of the new connection with the roundabout on Viale Europa. The objective is to improve the connection with the industrial area in south-east comparison from Varese.

Funds from the Province and Region

The infrastructure is considered strategic for the entire territory, which is why the Municipality of Varese obtained funding for almost 5 million euros, with a contribution of 4 million from the Province of Varese and another of 930 thousand euros from the Lombardy Region. After the construction of the new bridge with the maxi roundabout in Largo Flaianowhich eliminated the traffic at the entrance to Varese from the motorway, and with the construction of the new road links, the extension of the new connection will allow for improved traffic flow on Viale Gasparotto and the southern access from Varese.

Open call

A road intervention on which the Council has expressed its opinion several times citizens’ committee Let’s defend Selene. The date for submitting offers is July 31, 2024. The tender documentation is available on the website of the Municipality of Varese. Interested economic operators will be able to ask questions and request clarifications via the Sintel platform by July 24th.
