Also this year at “La Fausto Coppi”, the international cycling Granfondo now in its 35th edition, Coldiretti Campagna Amica will bring its contribution for a day dedicated to sport, healthy eating and well-being.

On Sunday 30 June, along the Granfondo and Mediofondo routes, precisely at the top of the Madonna del Colletto climb at 1,304 metres above sea level, Coldiretti will set up a refreshment point with fresh, seasonal fruit, strictly local, to offer cyclists a break based on strawberries, blueberries and apricots from Campagna Amica producers. “For athletes it will be a concentration of energy and freshness, ideal for regaining strength after the last climb of the route, for everyone it will be an invitation to consume 100% Made in Cuneo fruit. A major sporting event like La Fausto Coppi – says the President of Coldiretti Cuneo, Enrico Nada – is a unique opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness among citizens on the topic of a genuine diet based on local food”. Starting, of course, with fruit, the pride and excellence of the Granda.

In our countryside – recalls Coldiretti Cuneo – approximately 80% of the fruit production of the whole of Piedmont is concentrated, a crucial sector made up of 4,500 Cuneo companies that mainly produce apples, peaches, kiwis, pears and plums, for a value of over 260 million euros.

At the end of the competition, the winners will receive a tasty gift from Coldiretti signed Campagna Amica.

Furthermore, on Sunday 30 June the “Mangia&Pedala” will take place, a collateral event of the Granfondo, a 58 km cycling route through the hills of Cuneo interspersed with tasty tastings in the farms of Campagna Amica.
