With the start of the summer season, which coincides with the period of maximum danger of forest fires, Lieutenant Colonel Marchetta announced an increase in the number of soldiers employed in surveillance and surveillance activities. These services will be carried out in collaboration with the Fire Brigade, the Regional Forestry Corps, Civil Protection personnel and other bodies involved in the firefighting campaign.
In addition to prevention activities, the military will carry out investigative investigations to identify those responsible for any arson. In particularly serious cases, such as the devastating fire that hit the island in the summer of 2022, the forest fire task force will be mobilized.
