Politics – Viterbo – Merciless analysis of the Frontini administration of Cuore della Tuscia which hopes for a return to the polls: “To get back up after having hit rock bottom”

Viterbo – We receive and publish – It is depressing to witness with sadness what our major representatives of the current political class of our city are accustoming us to.
The courtesy and institutional elegance that should always be present in those who have received the task of administering them from the citizens has been completely lost (assuming that it sometimes existed). A tricolor sash can in some cases be considered a kind of pass for behavior and expressions that are in bad taste and decidedly over the top.
Bad language is justified as if it were allowed in a private dinner to create a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, forgetting that an institutional figure has obligations of good taste, elegance and discretion in any context he finds himself in.
Our first town increasingly resembles a bad copy of Two-Faced Janus, but while the divinity in question was depicted with two faces, since the god could look at the future, the past but not the present, she has forgotten about the past ( just think of his bombastic electoral campaign on the birth of a “possible city” which in reality has become an impossible city, and this is there for all to see), he doesn’t have the faintest idea of what will happen in the future. Because in addition to navigating by sight, he says everything and the opposite of everything, he does and undoes as he pleases, he speaks alone and incenses himself, and like God he cannot see the present too busy with the daily ribbon cuttings, inaugurations, often in contemporary style which, by forcing her to do real marathons and chases, forces her to replace elegant high-heeled shoes with comfortable and faster sneakers which are very common even in the presence of institutional clothing.
Knowledge of the ceremonial, which every mayor should have in mind (we would like it to be considered a text to be learned by heart for all candidates before every administrative election), but also unknown to a well-paid secretarial staff, would serve to avoid very serious and often sensational lapses in style.
In the increasingly sporadic municipal councils, the fluent dialectic of some illustrious predecessors to whom diligent teachers had admirably taught the use of Italian grammar no longer exists. We witness, in some cases, where subject and object complement merge and clash together with adjectives, verbs and subjunctives of dubious origin.
Perhaps the silence of many, in addition to being a dictate imposed from above, is sometimes a sign of modesty or fear of not knowing how to express oneself in an incisive manner and of not being able to attract the attention and listening of those present, but this is now a skill that belongs to a select few.
In all of this, we citizens helplessly witness an increasingly accentuated and increasingly dangerous decay.
We are witnessing a representation of politics, from vaudeville and opera buffa.
The citizens of Viterbo, some time ago protected by the privacy of the voting booth, have hopefully crossed out a symbol and a person who is sure of change, but who today to define as inadequate is a more apt definition than ever.
We hope that in a leap of awareness, someone will pull the plug, hoping that after having hit rock bottom, there will be the possibility in a hopefully not too distant future to rise back to the surface.
