Enpa Vicenza launches an appeal for adoptions: 163 cats stalled and dozens of volunteers involved

The ENPA of Vicenza launches a heartfelt appeal to deal with the cat emergency that is affecting the city. In recent weeks, the number of abandoned or recovered felines has literally exploded, putting the capacity of the cattery and the strength of the volunteers to the test.

Currently, there are 163 cats hosted in the private homes of 30 ENPA volunteers in Vicenza. Another 51 volunteers, however, are engaged daily in rescue activities, food distribution, assistance and much more. “We are exhausted,” says the Vicenza Enpa – May and June are the months with the peak in births and the situation has become truly unsustainable. From the beginning of the year to June 12th we managed 355 cats, of which 121 were adopted, 36 returned to their homes or colonies.”

Extraordinary adoption campaign
For this reason, Enpa has started an extraordinary adoption campaign which will continue until Christmas. The volunteers will be present every Sunday morning at the Garden Verde in Saviabona (and on Saturday afternoons at Linea Fauna in Caldogno) to meet potential adoptive families and raise awareness on the topic.

How to adopt a cat
Adopting a cat is a gesture of love that can change the life of an animal in difficulty. But it is important to remember that this is a decision to be made with awareness and responsibility. Enpa volunteers are available to provide all the necessary information and to accompany families in the adoption process.

What to do if you can’t adopt
Even if you can’t adopt a cat, there are many ways to help Enpa:
• Become a volunteer: Enpa always needs people to lend a hand with daily activities, such as cleaning cages, distributing food or looking after the cats.
• Make a donation: every contribution, even small, can make a difference to help Enpa cover the costs of food, veterinary care and foster care for cats.
• Spread the message: you can help Enpa raise awareness of its activity and the cat emergency by sharing their appeals on social media or talking about it with friends and family.
