In Campomarino, during a territorial control reconnaissance service, the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Termoli (CB) arrested, in flagrante delicto, the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing substances
narcotics, a 40-year-old originally from the province of Foggia who already has a police and/or criminal record.
In this circumstance, the operators proceeded to check him while he was passing through that center driving his car and, given the circumstances of time and place as well as the man’s evident nervousness, they decided to proceed with a personal and vehicular search on their own initiative, finding, inside the vehicle, 1 block of Hashish weighing 1 g. Approximately 101 and 5 heat-sealed plastic wrappers containing Cocaine with a total weight of g. 43 approximately.
What was found during said judicial police activity was subjected to seizure, awaiting laboratory analyzes and subsequent deposit at the competent Crime Branch Office, while the man – having ascertained his criminal responsibilities in relation to the crime of detention purposes of drug dealing, foreseen and punished by art. 73 of Presidential Decree 309/1990 – was arrested and taken to the prison closest to the place of the criminal conduct, to remain there at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Larino (CB).
During the subsequent hearing before the competent Judicial Authority, the arrest was therefore validated as it was legitimately carried out and the measure of the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence was applied to the 40-year-old.
The activity in question, which follows other drug operations carried out recently by the force, demonstrates how the age-old problem of drug dealing and use is still very current, even among young people, and requires a targeted and constant attention in order to carry out an effective prevention and repression action.
