Amsicora is Italian Champion, it is the number nine women’s field hockey title. The triumph came after a championship that was always at the top and after an exciting duel with Valverde, who were also defeated twice in direct clashes. A victory was missing to celebrate the championship, it arrived on time, but after the coronaries of the fans present were put under pressure.
On the last day of the championship, Torino was beaten 2-1 at Ponte Vittorio, but how much suffering. Amsicora, tense and imprecise, seemed to feel the weight of so much responsibility one step away from the finish line. And Torino, who honored their commitment, even took the lead in the third half. In the last quarter, in one minute the burst of pride, two goals and a comeback achieved, thanks to Grimbaum and Carosso. Once the scare passed, Amsicora defended their lead. He wins the scudetto after four years and succeeds Butterfly Roma in the roll of honor.
The next meeting is the Super Cup, in Genoa on 29 June, against Lorenzoni Brà, winners of the Italian Cup. The Cagliari team finished the championship in fifth place.
