We are looking for helpers for a migrant rescue exercise. It happens in Bari, where on 19 June a coast guard ship will have to save 30 migrants in difficulty as part of an exercise in which national and foreign air and naval assets will take part.
The exercise is organized by the Coast and Border Guard Agency “Frontex”, as part of the “Themis” operation, scheduled for 18 and 19 June. For this reason, Gruppo Ideazione and Torre Quetta, which this year are partners of Frontex and the Port Authority in this important exercise, are looking for 30 people who will simulate, in the training scenario, the group of migrants to be rescued.
Operation Themis is a European Union border security initiative led by Frontex, the European border surveillance agency, with the aim of combating uncontrolled migration and cross-border crimes. The initiative, which replaced the Triton operation in monitoring migrant flows, began on 1 February 2018. On 19 June there will be boarding in the port of Bari at 8.30 am and the simulation will end at 3 pm.
