The artisan union pressures candidates on this and other issues such as Deco, historic workshops, urban redevelopment

Great focus on the market but not only: in the race for Palazzo del Pincio, the Cna places emphasis on various issues that are pressing the artisans’ union such as Deco, historic workshops, urban redevelopment.

It was discussed at the headquarters in Viale Togliatti. “The market is tradition but innovation and tradition are needed – say Diego Bevilacqua and Stefano De Paolis, members of the Friends of the Civitavecchia Market Association – and the executive project of the new market must be seen but there seems to be no sign of new stalls. There is a cleaning problem that concerns operators and CSP. A new audience of cruise passengers must be tapped, but also those who want something different from large-scale distribution.”

The note from the Cna: “Less than a month before the administrative elections in the City of Civitavecchia, attention is focused on issues that concern the territory, citizens and small and medium-sized businesses.

In a context in which there is sometimes a certain disorganization due to failure to comply with current regulations, the future administration is invited to re-establish an order that favors social cohesion and economic development.

In this perspective, the CNA (National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises), together with the Friends of the Civitavecchia Market Association, presented a series of fundamental questions to the mayoral candidates.

During a press conference held at the CNA headquarters in Civitavecchia, the key points of the Confederation’s proposals were exposed.

Alessio Gismondi and Vincenzo Lisi, respectively president and vice-president of the CNA of Viterbo and Civitavecchia, led the meeting together with Stefano De Paolis and Diego Bevilacqua, members of the Friends of the Civitavecchia Market Association.

Attilio Lupidi, deputy secretary of the CNA Viterbo and Civitavecchia, underlined the crucial role of trade associations in dialogue with the political world.

The CNA organized the press conference to highlight the central role of the Municipality in promoting and supporting the territory, with particular attention to local businesses.

The president of CNA Viterbo and Civitavecchia, Alessio Gismondi, urged the mayoral candidates to have a constructive discussion, so that the associations can provide valuable input for the improvement of the territory.

Furthermore, he reiterated the importance of establishing a specification for the registration in the De.CO register of four typical products of the Civitavecchia culinary tradition, also with the aim of promoting local tourism.

Another crucial point is the access of the Municipality of Civitavecchia to the “Historical Shops” tender, promoted by the Lazio Region.

Gismondi highlighted the need for clarification on the delays that prevent local shops from accessing the funds intended for their protection and modernization.

Vincenzo Lisi raised the issue of taxation for businesses, proposing a revision of the IMU and TARI rates to alleviate the tax pressure on local businesses and encourage innovation.

Support for new businesses and business continuity were also emphasised. Gismondi highlighted the need for an open dialogue with the municipal administration to promote training and encourage generational turnover.

Furthermore, the problem of illegal construction was addressed, with the appeal to study effective protocols for compliance with the rules.

Diego Bevilacqua, member of the Friends of the Civitavecchia Market Association, highlighted the future of the city market, asking for clarity on the management and promotion of the market as a tourist attraction.

Finally, the need to clarify the intentions regarding the redevelopment of Piazza Regina Margherita and to involve the associations in the urban redevelopment works was expressed.

The conference highlighted the commitment of the CNA and the Friends of the Civitavecchia Market Association for the growth and sustainability of the territory, hoping for concrete responses from the candidates for mayor”.
