STARTUP RETREAT, THE OPENING OF INNOVATIVE STARTUPS IN THE ONE HEALTH SECTOR ON MAY 29TH IN TARANTO

The presentation of “Startup Retreat”, an acceleration program dedicated to innovative startups in the One Health sector. The event marks the official opening of the program, organized by the Center “For Innovation and Creativity” of the University of Bari, within the House of Emerging Technologies “Calliope” of the Municipality of Taranto, a project financed by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and the Development and Cohesion Fund.

Startup Retreat aims to support 22 startups and spin-offs, selected through a call, in defining their business, offering a 6-month support course divided into three periods of two full immersion days, at the Relais Histò in Taranto.

Startup Retreat will be a real retreat. A full immersion for the 22 selected startups, who will have the opportunity to interact with the main protagonists of the Italian financial system. A very original comparison, aimed at creating relationships, thanks to the contamination methodology that we use in BALAB, the contamination lab of our University. A New School, with people at its centre, to accelerate innovation in a strategic sector for the present and future of our communities: One Health”, says Prof. Gianluigi de Gennaro, President of the Center that organizes the initiative.

The main objective of Startup Retreat is to support the transfer of knowledge in the field OneHealtha sector that focuses on the interactions between humans, animals and the environment, promoting innovative solutions for the protection and protection of the environment, the well-being of humans, animals, quality of life, digitalisation and inclusiveness.

The opening of Startup Retreat will see the participation of important figures from the local and national innovation ecosystem: Maria Casola (Third Mission Delegate Jonico Department, UniBa), Vito Gregorio Colacicco (General Director of ASL Taranto), Vincenzo Cesareo (President of the Brindisi-Taranto Chamber of Commerce), Gianluigi de Gennaro (President of the Center “For Innovation and Creativity”, UniBa), Alessandro Delle Donne (Technical Scientific Committee – Onehealton), Rodolfo Sardone (Scientific Manager CTE Calliope), Vito Bruno (General Director ARPA Puglia), Roberto Settembrini (General Secretary of the Ionian Sea Port System Authority), YesMone Simeon (President of Confindustria Taranto), Salvatore Toma (President of Confindustria Taranto), Vito Felice Uricchio (Extraordinary Commissioner for land reclamation for the City of Taranto).

The event represents an important opportunity for startups innovations in the sector OneHealth to connect with important stakeholders, receive support and mentoring from industry experts and build a network of collaborations; an opportunity to bring new ideas to life and contribute to the creation of a more sustainable and inclusive future.
