Cantine Aperte, the record-breaking edition begins – Abruzzo

ABRUZZO. The 2024 edition of “Cantine Aperte” is a record for the Abruzzo wine tourism movement: never since 1998 – the year of the first regional edition of the event – had 52 wineries in the Abruzzo area at the starting line.

From the Terre Aquilane to the Teramo Hills passing through Casauria, from Colline Teatine to Terre dei Vestini passing through Tullum and Vignamagna, all the wine territories of the region are ready to welcome tens of thousands of wine tourists who today and tomorrow will decide to spend the weekend in the cellar in the name of wine culture and healthy fun. The classic regional regulation has been confirmed with 5 euros to receive a glass and bag of the event in the first winery visited and 5 euros for 3 tastings in all the wineries which, in addition, will provide other proposals such as tastings of historical vintages, pairings with typical products, trekking and cycling food and wine and more.

«Cantine Aperte is a format that works and is increasingly an important communication vehicle for wine tourism», says the national and regional president of MTV, Nicola D’Auria, «in recent years the quality level of the event has grown significantly , also because by proceeding with the booking system, it is possible to guarantee a turnout managed in a certain way. Wine is culture and this event aims to be a moment in which the consumer listens to the producer what is behind a glass of wine, experiencing a different emotion through tasting. We want to raise the bar so that we approach Cantine Aperte with moderation and awareness. Abruzzo is increasingly competitive in terms of tourist appeal and we expect a large presence of both local residents and tourists from nearby regions.”
