COSENZA Art, fashion, design. Design, fashion, art, cinema, music. A round trip on roads that intersect and are enriched with content through testimonies of different professional experiences. Each in their own way committed to building a new narrative for Calabria. An exciting and multi-voiced debate characterized the penultimate day of the South Italy Fashion Week at the Moema Academy headquarters in Cosenza directed by Giada Falcone. “The beauty of slowness” was the title of the lesson Pino Scaglionearchitect, urban designer and professor at the University of Trento, who fascinated the students of the Academy by illustrating connections and contaminations between art, fashion and design.
And the debate that has seen protagonists has always started from fashion Gianluca Garganopresident of Confartigianato cineaudiovisivo Calabria, vice-president Pierluigi Sposato, Salvatore Paravati by Amygdala Produzioni, Maria Francesca Nigroteacher of history of costume at the Moema Academy e Fabrizio Nucci, Open Fields Productions. Different experiences that have a common origin in the desire to promote cinema in Calabria aiming for a stable and long-lasting industry. A path already started thanks to the commitment of the Film Commission. «In the last two years – said Gargano – 12 million euros have been invested in around 60 film productions». Training young people to prepare them for professions that revolve around the world of cinema is one of the bets of the Moema Academy. «We need to build alliances because investing in Calabrian cinema and productions also means broadening the tourist horizon», said Sposato.
He also spoke during the meeting Giacomo Triglia, director and author of highly successful commercials and music videos (he has worked with artists of the caliber of Jovanotti, Maneskin, Ligabue, Ornella Vanoni, Brunori Sas, Lucio Dalla, Samuele Bersani, Annalisa and many others). Triglia also wanted to talk about the connections between fashion, cinema and music, recalling the fashion film made for Dolce&Gabbana. Moema Academy awarded the Calabrian director an award «for his ability to narrate through images and for having contributed, with his talent, to valorizing Calabria and its peculiar beauties».
South Italy Fashion Week will end this evening, Saturday 25 May, with the fashion performance which will take place at the Sala Quintieri of the Rendano theater in Cosenza. On the catwalk, the creations of the stylists of the Moema Academy and the internationally renowned stylists, Saverio Palatella and Mario Dice
