Lamezia, International Missing Children’s Day: awareness campaign by the state police on Corso Nicotera

Lamezia Terme – On the occasion of the ‘International Day dedicated to missing children’ on 25 May, some stalls and information stands were set up by the State Police along Corso Giovanni Nicotera. Today’s morning was therefore dedicated to this delicate topic. To give concreteness to this, the specialized personnel of the State Police were present there with their own information point offering specific information brochures, containing information on the risks relating to the disappearance of school-age children and on the actions to be taken to prevent this serious phenomenon. In addition, detailed information was also provided on how to prevent other degenerative and sadly recurring phenomena, such as bullying, mistreatment and gender violence. “If there are several reasons why you would like to escape… contact – it is written in the brochure – the state police” and again: “He asks you for personal photos, money, threatens you, requests embarrassing things and that everything remains secret, perhaps he is not who he says he is and perhaps he is not sincere.”

The information material also contains telephone numbers, which can also be downloaded from the web, which can be contacted if necessary. The handbook was created by the Central Anti-Crime Directorate of the State Police.
