By bike from Cervia to Venice to celebrate

Businesses never come alone. To worthily celebrate Cesena’s promotion to Serie B, a group of friends with Juventus DNA decided to get on the pedals along the ‘Salt Route’ from Cervia to Venice, a 320 kilometer itinerary tackled on gravel and dirt roads, far from the busy communication arteries and in the midst of nature, enjoying the moment, the view and, above all, the reason for the journey. “We are not new to experiences of this kind – say Thomas Biondi, Stefano Milini and Enrico Macrelli, the three protagonists – since in 2010 to celebrate the conquest of Serie A, we traveled, again by bike, 700 kilometres, starting from Finland and reaching the North Cape”. The enthusiasm of the three friends is fueled by a lifelong passion for football: “I’m 40 years old – Biondi relaunches – and I’ve been renewing my Manuzzi season ticket for at least 25 seasons. The idea of combining successes of the team and our cycling exploits reflects the spirit that unites us, that of living important moments together and in the name of joy”. The journey was divided into four stages, with the last tranche which from Chioggia to Venice also combined the ferry with the bike. “We had previously stopped in Comacchio and Porto Tolle. It was beautiful, but not easy. The first day I got a puncture twice and when we arrived in the lagoon we were greeted by torrential rain which forced us to stay in the hotel. The next day , in the local newspapers they wrote that it had been 300 years since it rained with that intensity in Venice… We didn’t miss anything, but in fact the beauty of it is precisely this. Now we wait for the team, ready to respond in kind to the next undertaking!”. Luca Ravaglia
