Piazza Boves, new security controls – The Guide

New meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, at the Prefecture of Cuneo yesterday, Thursday 23 May, which returned to the situation in Piazza Boves, in light of the latest news events of last week. At the table, in addition to the Prefect Fabrizia Triolo, the mayor of Cuneo Patrizia Manassero, the police commissioner Carmine Grassi, the commander of the local police Davide Bernardi, the deputy commander of the provincial command of the Carabinieri Giuseppe Latorre and the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza met. of Cuneo Mario Palumbo. Also at the table were the vice mayor with responsibility for the production sectors Luca Serale and the local police councilor Cristina Clerico.
Further safety devices and reinforcements in controls have been agreed, measures defined with the shared commitment of the various parties sitting at the table, each in light of their specific skills.
“The attention remains constant, the commitment does not stop, the dialogue with the Prefecture and the police is continuous and for this I want to thank – states the mayor Patrizia Manassero -. In recent days, even before the latest acts of vandalism, we asked that a space for discussion be created together with health and social services, in which to deal with the cases and events of people who live in complex and marginalized situations, and who are often the cause of the crimes or acts reported. There are events, such as those recorded in Piazza Boves, in which, paradoxical as it may sound, the regulations in force in the fields of order, security and commerce place limits on the action of the public security authorities and the Mayor. I am well aware of how much discomfort these facts bring to the area. And this is why we follow all possible paths, aware of the complexity of situations, which cannot be resolved with a single answer. As the police commissioner Carmine Grassi revealed in a long interview released recently, the data does not indicate a security alarm in Cuneo. Nonetheless, we are working to ensure as much peace of mind as possible for citizens. From this perspective, I thank the journalists for the efforts of responsibility and correctness they make in disseminating the information that plays such a large part in the complex security system and perception”.
