Requests for money and threats: 30-year-old under house arrest for extortion

A 30-year-old originally from the province of Varese was arrested by the men of the Flying Squad of the Cremona Police Headquarters on charges of extortion. The complaint had been filed by a 40-year-old Italian man who, particularly frightened, had reported that a man, an acquaintance of his, was looking, with pressing threats of retaliationOf extort 500 euros from himleveraging some alleged past debts. The investigations carried out on the victim’s statements allowed the investigators to collect important evidence on what was happening, so much so that within a few days the 30-year-old was identified and arrested, act validated by the judge who ordered the House arrest.

The victim, harassed by the suspect’s intimidation, instead of the illicitly demanded money, had given him the keys to his car, without however appeasing the insistent requests from the 30-year-old. Through a targeted observation and monitoring servicethe Mobile police began to keep it under controlcatching him in the act of committing a crime, when, following various intimidations, he met the 40-year-old in a street in the city center to receive the key to another car owned by the victim. Just as he was leaving the meeting place, he was stopped by the police and found with the keys in his pocket.

The house search also gave a positive result: the key to the car was found in the suspect’s house delivered a few days before, together with some doses of cocaineso it was also reported to the Prefecture as a drug user.

The 30-year-old, with a criminal record behind him, was arrested after his arrest accompanied to prison in via Cà del Ferro.
