The novel by Marco Atzeni.

Crimes and shady deals in nineteenth-century Sassari are the background of the book “The two cities”, the scholar’s debut novel Marco Atzeni.

Marco Atzeni, from Sassari, graduated in Economics, is the author of the highly followed blog “History of Sassari“, in whose pages for years he has been describing places, monuments and characters from the city’s history, particularly of the nineteenth century. And it was precisely in that century that he decided to set the story of his novel, in which the protagonist wanders around the Sassari of the time, alternating between infamous neighborhoods and bourgeois neighborhoods, living in a hovel until the day when, in the notary’s office where he works as a scribe, he receives a visit from the rich woman Musso. The old woman makes him an offer that is difficult to refuse: to go and live in one of the apartments of a majestic palace owned by her in one of the noble streets of the city. A few days after the move, right in the atrium of the building, the man meets a young woman with contradictory ways. However, a relationship of complicit trust will mature between the two and from here they will also depart investigations into some murders and on the affairs of the baron, the richest and most powerful lord of Sassari.
