Raito meets the Berco union representatives

POLESELLA (Rovigo) – The mayor of Polesella Leonardo Raitore-nominated in the next municipal elections for the civic list “Polesella Tomorrow”participated in a meeting with the trade union representatives of. on the afternoon of Thursday 23rd in Copparo Berco Spa together with the candidate for mayor of the city of Ferrara Enrico Bassi. Issues related to employment and the company were addressed, which in recent times has had to resort to social safety nets and solidarity contracts also due to the fluctuations of international markets.

Raito pointed out that he could not miss a meeting with the RSUs who also represent the over 100 Polesellans employed in the Copparo production plant, recalling that his attention to issues related to Berco date back to the time of his assignment in the Province and that in any case he never wanted to miss out on the unions’ invitations regarding issues that so closely affect the Polesine area.

Saccording to Raito, to respond to the need for ever greater dialogue between institutions and company management and for constant contact with workers, it is essential to build a permanent working table with local and provincial institutions, territorial and provincial trade union representatives to have a forum for continuous discussion and to be able to create a critical mass in the face of problems.

“We have made a commitment, in the event of reconfirmation, to start right here: establish an interprovincial table that talks about employment and development. The trade unions today are the only ones capable of representing central issues such as that of work and Berco is an international reality but with very strong repercussions on the territories of the two provinces and the two regions. Building a common working channel is essential. I am happy that this proposal that we shared was considered very significant by everyone involved at the table.”
