GROSSETO – The “I Luoghi del Tempo” festival begins on Friday 24 May, reaching its fourteenth edition in 2024.

The event, also recognized by the President of the Region, Eugenio Giani as an initiative that “also in this 2024 season offers moments of leisure and reflection, of lightness and depth that tell us about a Tuscany capable of entertaining in beauty and making us think, move and cheer up in perfect line with its tradition of great cultural richness”, presents itself immediately with a rich and articulated program that respects the philosophy of the project, from its beginning: to lead the public to discover hidden beauties, little-known but important places historical and landscape value, thanks to unique events that will try to enhance the territory at 360°. And it does so with one of its main themes, travel.

Indeed they will be Federico Taddia (journalist, television author and science communicator, Norberto Vezzoli (here in the role of “traveller”, journalist and writer) ed Enrico Giunta (director of the Maremma Regional Park), coordinated by the writer Sacha Naspini to inaugurate the festival program, starting from 6 pm at the entrance to the A6 Wildlife Path of the Park. The title of the literary walk refers to Taddia’s book, “Bello Mondo” (written together with Elisa Palazzi), a text that invites analysis and reflection on a land to be safeguarded, truly sustainable, and which, for the occasion, it combines with a greater knowledge of the surrounding environment, travel around the natural world and beyond.

Following, at 7 pm, will be the actor and playwright, Lorenzo Degl’Innocentito lead spectators on a different journey around the world through the experiences of great writers, men of letters and philosophers (including Nietzsche, Rousseau, Emerson, Kant, Kerouac and many others) with the traveling show “Song of the Open Road”: a walk in stages to discover the literature and philosophy of travel, where each stop has the name of one of the cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude, temperance), to lead the public on a more intimate journey inside man, a metaphor of the path it must take to reach true awareness.

The evening will end at 8pm with an aperitif based on local food and wine products, offered by the Cacciagrande company, Caseificio Grosseto and Salumificio Mori.

I Luoghi del Tempo will continue for three consecutive weekends to end on June 9th, with big names from Italian entertainment and culture on the programme, such as: Paolo Rossi, Altan, Paolo Hendel, Domenico Iannacone, Franco Arminio, Erica Mou, Moni Ovadia in a special project together with Gabriele Coen and Ziad Trabelsi, Mario Perrotta, Peppe Voltarelli, Michele Staino.

Worth mentioning with particular attention is the national preview that the festival will host, “Barefoot on Earth”, a sound installation taken from the text of the same name by Folco Terzani and edited by Elio Germano, which will be set up in the evocative location of the former Terra Rossa mining terminal , in Scarlino. The performance, scheduled for Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, will be hosted within the festival as a national preview before moving to the Ravenna Festival, where it will be staged from 7th to 9th June.

The places of time is organized by the M.Arte association and created with the support of the Tuscany Region, the Maremma Libraries and Archives Network, the Colline Metallifere National Park of the municipalities of Castiglione della Pescaia, Civitella Paganico, Gavorrano, Grosseto, Orbetello , Roccastrada, Scarlino. THE PLACES OF MAY 24

Inside the Maremma Park, the A6 Wildlife Path retraces the walk of an ancient community pasture, created in the nineteenth century between the agricultural land of the plain and the woods of the hunting reserve of the Uccellina hills. The path winds through large oak trees under which cows graze. Today domestic animals have been replaced by fallow deer, wild boars and roe deer.

THE PROTAGONISTS

Federico Taddia: Author and television presenter, journalist and scientific communicator. He began his career in 1994 writing for Mickey Mouse. He hosted the cultural and scientific dissemination program Nautilus and with Telmo Pievani he created the podcast “Science and technology explained to my son” and the theater show “The useless male”. He collaborated with Massimo Gramellini at La Stampa. With Margherita Hack he wrote and published the essay “Why don’t the stars fall on our heads?” (Editoriale Scienza, 2010) and the book “Nove vite come i cats” (Rizzoli, 2012) from which the TV film “Margherita delle stelle” was based

Norberto Vezzoli: Journalist, curious traveller, communication expert and teacher, he has written books on cinema and collaborated on various travel publications.

Lorenzo Degl’innocenti: Actor, worked with Arnoldo Foà, Giorgio Albertazzi, Lella Costa, La Fura Dels Baus; in 2005 he won the David di Donatello and the Nastro d’argento for the short film “Lotta Libera” by Stefano Viali.

Sacha Naspini: Maremma writer translated in many countries; among his books are “Le Case del discontento”, “I Cariolanti”, “Nives”, “Villa del seminaro”, and the latest “Errore 404”.

THE PLACES OF TIME AND THE YOUNG EDITORIAL TEAM

The project aims to involve young people from the Province of Grosseto in the creation and participation in cultural events, in particular cinema, theatre, music and literary events and festivals. The group of young people will assist in the organization and promotion of the I Luoghi del Tempo festival also through the use of the most contemporary languages ​​and tools suitable for a young audience, including the most important social networks.

“Redazione Giovani” is one of the winning projects of the “Siete presente. With young people to restart”, created by Cesvot and financed by Regione Toscana-Giovanisì, dedicated to promoting and qualifying the role of young people in Tuscan associations as well as facilitating generational turnover within organisations.

The Youth Editorial Staff is a project for the involvement and training of high school students in the Province of Grosseto for inclusion in the world of organizing live entertainment and communication. In 2024 the students will be involved: Vittoria Barometers, Alberto Di Nella, Alessandro Falconi, Ilaria Leonelli, Emma Vannucchi; with the coordination of Benedetta Rustici.
