June 2nd is Sunday at the Museum

Entrance with free ticket to the Royal Palace of Caserta with expected large turnout

June 2nd is Sunday at the Museum. For the Italian Republic Day, the Royal Palace of Caserta joins the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which provides access with free tickets to museums and state archaeological parks.

The MiC Institute, which every day is chosen as a travel destination by several thousand visitors from all over the world, has long set up a flow management system which allows it to welcome over 14 thousand people on free days.

Tickets have a time slot for access to the Monument from outside. Entry before and after this time is not possible, not even to the Royal Park alone.

In order to facilitate the ticket collection procedures and reduce the queues in Piazza Carlo di Borbone, a portion of the tickets is intended for online distribution which takes place on TicketOne from 11am on Monday 27 May, until sold out. To counteract deplorable scalping phenomena, the maximum number that each account can receive is 5.

Another portion of the tickets will be available on site, at the ticket office in Piazza Carlo di Borbone, starting from 8.30 am on June 2nd, until the end of availability.

All visitors, even minors aged 2 and over, must have an access ticket.

The visitor, already in possession of the ticket, must go to the central gate in Piazza Carlo di Borbone or that in Corso Giannone at the time indicated on his ticket. In order not to cause inconvenience, it is advisable NOT to park in front of the gates first.

At the entrance you must show the barcode of the entry ticket, in paper format or from your smartphone. It is not permitted to re-enter the Vanvitellian Complex once you have left. The ticket is, in fact, cancelled.

In order to improve flow management, two distinct queues will be created in Piazza Carlo di Borbone: one for holders of the “Park Only” ticket, the other for those of the “Park+Apartments” ticket. For better management of the flow of visitors, holders of the Park+Apartments ticket will have to visit the Apartments first and then the Park in the access time slots between 8.30am and 3.00pm.

The Court environments of the Royal Palace of Caserta preserve a delicate and fragile heritage. The use of the Museum spaces must necessarily be subordinated to the needs of protecting the property and safety of the staff of the Vanvitellian Complex and of the visitors themselves. It is, therefore, possible that to visit the Royal Apartments it is, at certain times, necessary to wait in line in the Upper Vestibule.

We recommend consulting the opening and closing times of the Museum:

Royal Apartments from 8.30am to 7.25pm with last admission at 6.15pm;

Cappella Palatina from 8.30 to 18.15 with last access at 18.10;

Royal Park from 8.30am to 7.00pm with last access at 6.00pm.

The Vanvitelli Rooms, the Grand Gallery with the “Visions” exhibition, the English Garden and the Court Theater will be closed.

The public is reminded that on free days the Royal Palace of Caserta is among the most visited Italian cultural institutes, with a demand for tickets that exceeds the capacity of the Museum to accommodate.
