“The fans will have the majority of the shares”

Livorno, 22 May 2024 – “We want to propose something that allows the business side and the fans to participate together in the management of Livorno”. Andrea Locatelli, a Lombard entrepreneur with Livorno origins, introduces himself to the city and introduces his idea of managing Us Livorno. The Goldoni evening sees many amaranth supporters participate.

It’s a delicate phase, Locatelli reveals the project but at the moment there have been no contacts with the current owner of Livorno Joel Esciua. “I tried calling him – says Locatelli, showing the calls – But I never got an answer. I have them too sent email”. All in response to what Esciua had said earlier in the day in a press release (“I haven’t received any offers, in my house you call the owner first if you want to buy something from someone”).

There would be eight entrepreneurs ready to take over Livornoto then give 51% of the shares to the fans and keep the remaining 49%.

“It’s a project that started recently – says Locatelli – but the interest is high. The availability exists, the possibility that the 49% will be extended to even 49 subjects with 1% is high. The day we can have 20 thousand members within 51% and 49 subjects within 49% we will have this company capable of facing any sea”.

51% of the company “will have six representatives – says Locatelli – and will have control and will determine the major choices. The president will be chosen by the fans.”

And again: “What is described tonight is a working hypothesis, a proposal, it will then be the fans who will establish whether this approach is correct or needs to be modified,” he says Locatelli addressing the fans sitting in the stalls at Goldoni.

The basic fee to enter is 200 euros, to be paid precisely to be a member, “with strong discounts on the subscription and other benefits”, says Locatelli. The model is the German one. St Pauli is mentioned, but also Bayer Leverkusen, winners of the Bundesliga this year.

Locatelli is clear in his speech. In the first part of the evening on the Goldoni stage, with Gianni Tacchi as moderator, the entrepreneur introduces himself and talks about his love for Livorno, for which his grandmother was a cook in the 1940s.
