«I underline with strength and determination what risks happening with the execution of the works on the last lot of the ring road. In a first phase, the same works were planned in the locality of San Martino in Strada, and precisely on Viale dell’Appennino, from the end of April to mid-August this year. The new timetable instead assumes a closure from the end of June to the end of November. 5 months to do the same things. The first consideration concerns the lack of planning which seems to be careless and indicative of a lack of attention to what this interruption could lead to. In fact, while in the summer period the use of light vehicles for the movement of citizens and the holiday period could have reduced the extent of the damage, in the autumn period, even for a longer time, the damage that economic activities would suffer and, more generally, the traffic on Viale dell’Appennino up to the Morgagni-Pierantoni hospital would be significantly higher» is the comment of Lauro Biondi, municipal councilor candidate in the League.

«Furthermore, it should not be forgotten that Forlì and, in some way, the same area of San Martino and Vecchiazzano were affected by the damage caused by the flood. This is a further reason why I believe it is absolutely necessary to reorganize the working times, in order to conclude them by the month of September. How? By overlapping the processes and resorting to doubled work shifts, including holidays, as well as a greater contribution of men and means. It goes without saying that this may entail costs that Anas will have to face. This is a contribution that we ask of our city due to the extremely critical and difficult post-flood period. We therefore ask Anas to meet this commitment and the municipal administration to take responsibility for communicating with Anas itself on this matter. This is in the interest of the city and the citizens involved. Let’s demonstrate in Forlì that we know how to take action to reduce the collateral damage caused by the construction of public works, which are obviously necessary. But good administration cannot fail to set itself the objective of reducing the damage itself to the minimum possible. We are committed and will be politically committed to making this happen» concludes Lauro Biondi.
