The Ragusa students won the national title in the ‘free’ carom specialty at the student championships held in Cervia on 11 and 12 May.
The one who excels in the individual competition is Lorenzo Fiore, a young talent who has already distinguished himself by placing 2nd in the regional junior circuit of the ‘3 banks’ specialty, who wins all his matches.
In the team competition Fermi from Ragusa, Carla Di Quattro, Samuele Ferraro and Lorenzo Fiore got the better of a gripping final over the Foscolo high school in Canicattì.

Great satisfaction for the school director, Prof. Giovanna Piccitto who, upon the return of the children, complimented the team, for the prof. Roberto Criscione, chaperone of the children and representative of the ‘Billiards & School’ Project and for the federal instructor Roberto Turlà.
For the Fermi high school, this is the 9th year of participation in the ‘Biliards & School’ project born from the collaboration between the FISBB Italian Billiards and Bowling Federation (recognized Federation from 2023), Coni and affiliated high schools. The project gives the opportunity to learn about and practice the sport of billiards and to explore, through the dynamics of the game, the physics and geometry applied to the hypothesized and subsequently executed trajectories. For this purpose, the high school has dedicated a classroom to the aforementioned activities, equipped with an international billiard table and from this year equipped with cutting-edge technology aimed at studying the movements and trajectories that the marbles travel.
