Four works have been installed so far in the following places: Piazza Santa Maria (outside the Gallo Blue Bar); largo Medaglie d’oro (entrance to Santa Chiara Hospital); via della Malpensada (Sanbapolis); via Lampi (in front of the Mayer student residence).
These works are a provocative invitation for to realize and try to quit, an appeal to the health of those who smoke and those who live with them. However, many Trentino people did not understand the message and above all the provocation, which for some was low profile and degrading. In fact, install toilets (called cic totems) around Trento wasn’t the best, at least according to many.
Perhaps it was also the vandals who thought so, who during the night, a few hours after the installation, thought it best to damage them.

One of the worksand, made with toilets, bidets and other recycled materials by the students of the Vittoria Institute of Arts and positioned in front of the Mayer student residence, it was vandalized: ahand” in kiln-fired ceramic, a unique piece that had required a lot of time and effort from the students, it was smashed and stolen. The damage was reported to the artist and by many people who had attended the inauguration the day before.
The piece looks like it will be rebuilt quickly. The works they were created by Maurizio Menestrina (mene) & Autofficina Carrozzeria Santoni, by the Pavonian Artigianelli Institute for the graphic arts of Trento, by the Alessandro Vittoria artistic high school of Trento, by Sarah Mutinelli (artist).
The “totem-cic” is formed from two overlapping sanitary ware which give movement and dynamism to the static form of the object in question.
The very base of the totem is also a warning, in that it is was obtained from cemetery waste marble and granite.
The artistic interpretation is free to create a creative and ironic message but which leads to a fundamental reflection: Health is a precious asset that must be protected for everyone. All the elements that were used to create the works”Totem-Cic” they are recovered and recycled materials.
The artistic reinterpretation was made with ceramic, metal, paint, mosaic technique, painting technique.
