The event called the III Historical Parade of Santa Rita and the Sacred Representation “A rose among the thorns” was presented in the small hall of the Parish of S. Maria Maddalena (formerly Cappuccini) in Vittoria. The event saw the participation of the mayor of Vittoria, Francesco Aiello, who underlined the importance of the social role of parish communities.

The sacred representation

Director Andrea Traina illustrated the sacred representation on the life of St. Rita, also taking care of the adaptation of the text. Traina explained that Bringing the life of Saint Rita of Cascia to the stage is a fascinating challenge, aimed at telling in an engaging way the extraordinary humanity of the saint and the exemplary value of her story. The performance, entitled “A Rose among Thorns”, aims to educate the public on the principles of faith and morality through theatre, creating an emotional experience that touches the minds and hearts of spectators.

The route of the procession will cross the evocative streets of Via Cavour, Piazza del Popolo and other fascinating places, culminating in the monumental staircase of Via San Martino, where the representation of the life of the saint will be held.

The stage clothes, rented and original from the time of Santa Rita, will be completed by make-up and hairstyles handled by the students and teachers of the Cirs, Professional Training Centre. The performance aims to become a permanent fixture, like the Sacred Drama, and will be a work in progress whose impact will be discovered on Saturday evening.
