Bari is preparing for the elections: committees like “mushrooms” and posters

We are almost there. There are about three weeks left until the elections and the first election posters are appearing in the city. Political posters are, together with the rally, one of the oldest and most traditional forms of political and electoral communication. But there are well-defined rules and spaces in the city where they can be displayed and in what way.

How the Ministry of the Interior regulates electoral propaganda: “The posting of printed matter, wall or other newspapers and propaganda posters by political parties or groups participating in the electoral competition with lists of candidates or, in in the case of elections with a single-member system, by individual candidates or by the parties or political groups to which they belong, it is carried out exclusively in the spaces designated for this purpose in each Municipality”.

In Bari there are several spaces identified. For example, they will be present on Lungomare Perotti, in Piazza Umberto, via Napoli and Stefano Jacini. Attached is a document with all the places, in the respective Municipalities, where we can find them in the city. Posting is therefore permitted only in specific spaces, the same number as those reserved for political parties or groups or
candidates participating in the electoral competition. A section of space will also be guaranteed, 2.00 meters high by 1.00 meters base, distinct for each election (European, Municipal and Municipal), for each list of candidates admitted to the electoral competition on 8 and 9 June 2024 Wall inscriptions and those on road surfaces, cliffs, embankments, palisades and fences are obviously prohibited.

Electoral committees are also popping up “like mushrooms”, in most cases in premises that have been vacant for years: from Libertà to Palese, from San Paolo to Japigia.
