PUGLIA – «It is law» in Puglia «a shock strategy to achieve the widest vaccination against Papilloma virus human and neonatal administration of monoclonal antibodies. A shock strategy never used in Italy, since it subordinates the enrollment in school of children aged 11 to 25 to an information interview aimed at anti-HPV vaccination, essentially the introduction of the concept of informed dissent, and authorizes the administration of monoclonal antibodies against bronchiolitis to all newborns”. This was declared by the regional councilors Fabiano Amati and Pierluigi Lopalco, promoters of the bill, and the undersigning councilors Sergio Clemente, Sebastiano Leo, Ruggero Mennea, Saverio Tammacco and Mauro Vizzino.
The law establishes that «enrollment in the educational courses foreseen in the age group 11-25 years, including the university one, is subordinated to the presentation of documentation, already in possession of the interested parties, capable of certifying the anti-Hpv vaccination (therefore no burden for the certification structures), or a certificate issued by the vaccination centers of the relevant local health authorities, certifying – at the choice of the interested parties – the administration, the start of the administration program or the refusal to administer the vaccine”.
“There is therefore no obligation to vaccinate – highlight the councilors – but informed dissent, i.e. the certification of a choice aimed solely and exclusively at the right of the children to be informed”.
Regarding the prevention of diseases from Vrs-bronchiolitis, the law provides for «the administration of human monoclonal antibodies approved by the regulatory authorities, which will be carried out in a hospital setting, before discharge from the maternity ward, for all children born in the October-March epidemic period; by local services, possibly in the month of October and in any case before the end of the epidemic period, for children born in the April-September period”.
