Play-out verdicts. Atletico Ancona down

After a week’s break at the end of the regular season, the second category restarted on Saturday and issued new verdicts in the groups involving the Ancona teams, i.e. C and D. In C, Aurora Jesi is relegated, in this bad year for the football of the city of Federico II, which has already seen Jesina’s descent from Excellence to Promotion. Aurora had the home advantage, but lost 2-0 at home against Rosora Angeli, who survived thanks to goals from Kouao Malan and Marinelli, while the Jesi team ended up in the Third Category together with OJ Falconara, already in last place in the regular season. The play-off semi-final instead goes to Avis Arcevia, who only need a home draw after 120′ 0-0 against Olimpia Ostra Vetere to reach the final against Argignano, who have already qualified. Moving on to group D, after Colle’s 2006 relegation in the regular season, comes Atletico Ancona’s descent into the Third Category, losing the play-out at home against Europa Calcio Costabianca 2-0: guest goals from Boccanera and Ben Fredj. The play-offs were also played with the semi-final between Loreto, who finished third in the regular season and therefore had the home advantage, and SA Castelfidardo: Loreto won 3-1 with goals from Caporaletti, Pigliacampo and Ghergo, to which only Quarato responded. Loreto therefore in the play-off final in group D against FC Osimo, who had already qualified by virtue of the ranking obtained in the regular season. In this group the championship was won by San Biagio, which has therefore already been in the First Category for some time, as well as Ostra, which instead prevailed in group C and in turn rose to the First. Ostra played in the semi-final for the Seconda regional title on Saturday, pitting the winners of the eight groups against each other: after having passed the quarter-finals, De Filippi’s team lost 1-0 against Muraglia away from the event. The final will be between Muraglia himself and Petritoli, who won 2-0 against Casette d’Ete: not bad for Ostra, however, who had already accomplished the feat in the regular season, achieving their second consecutive promotion after the one obtained from Third to Second in 2023, bringing the Municipality, with an important past in Promotion in the Eighties and Nineties, back to First Category, after many years.
