The Municipality of Monza has activated the emergency measures following the notice of red criticality issued by the Natural Risk Monitoring Functional Center of the Lombardy Regionstarting at midnight today. The alert mainly concerns the hydraulic risk due to possible flooding of the Lambro river.

To prevent damage to vehicles in risk areas along the riverthe ZTL gates will be turned off from 9pm. Citizens are invited to move their cars away from the streets adjacent to the river.

Civil Protection on alert

The Civil Protection volunteer teams are already operational. Starting from 9.00 pm, they will place barriers and barriers at critical points to activate checkpoints in the event of flooding of the Lambro at night. There Local police have increased patrols on duty to coordinate any emergency activities related to traffic.

Municipal Operations Center activated

The situation is under continuous monitoring by the Municipal Operations Center (COC), meeting from 5.30 pm in the Council Room of the Town Hall. The COC will follow the evolution of the situation and promptly activate the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of citizens.

Citizens are invited not to stay in risk areas, under trees and near scaffolding during the weather alert.
