Atletico 2000 kept their qualification alive by overwhelming Tor Sapienza 5-0. In this sense, Paulina’s boys will need to beat Romulea and hope for a positive result for the yellow-greens against the Academy to access the round of 16. The first danger towards the Tor Sapienza goal was created by Bonanni in the 10th minute: Longhi was not fooled by the rebound and went to the back of the net and following the development of the corner there was an unrealistic attempt by Proietti. After a timid start, Tor Sapienza began to appear more insistently in the opponent’s half of the field. At 16′ Miraldi was fed centrally in the yellow-green area who, however, managed to get away with the throw-in. The inertia changes in the 21st minute: Piraccini mixes it up in the penalty area by giving the ball away, without any pressure, to Urbinelli: the attacker thanks him and puts Atletico 2000 up 1-0. In the 27th minute Aricò beats Mosciatti and enters the area from the left, but then fidgets allowing the red and white full-back to return. On the half hour mark, Marinaro shook the post with the goalkeeper beaten with an exceptional right-footed shot from outside the area. But it is only the prelude to the 2-0 goal which arrives 1′ later thanks to some authentic magic from Proietti. The red and white number 9 raises his head and, from around twenty-two metres, scores a Eurogoal with the inside of his left foot. The doubling galvanized the home team and at the end they came close to making it three of a kind with Fortuna, who wasted the knockout blow by deflecting Miraldi’s splendid cross from the left to the back. In the first stages of the second half, Proietti chipped the crossbar from a corner. After the gore of the red and white number 9, Tor Sapienza wins a free kick from the edge: Senigallia opts for the power solution on the goalkeeper’s post, but his attempt goes out at the back. In the 17th minute, Marinaro takes a free kick under seven: Longhi is there and deflects it over the crossbar. In the 24th minute Miraldi closes a great triangle with a teammate and beats Longhi in the area for the 3-0. Finally Giunta cuts through the defense by serving Rota in the area who touches his first ball and drops the poker past the goalkeeper. At the end Rota shoots from two steps, on the rebound Giunta anticipates everyone and closes the score.
