La Jana Maria, the Sardinian fairies and Babborco at the Astra Theater in Sassari

“Maria Incantada and the little people of the janas” is the title of the show that closes the season for children of Famiglie a Teatro organized by the company la Botte e il Cilindro. The appointment is double: Saturday and Sunday at 6pm.

The show is directed by Pier Paolo Conconi. The lyrics were edited by Consuelo Pittalis who is also on stage together with Stefano Chessa, Luisella Conti and Margherita Lavosi. The costumes are by Roberta Amadu and Luisella Conti, the project is embellished with original music by Mario Chessa dei Bertas. Lighting design: Paolo Palitta. Scenic engineering and sound engineering: Michele Grandi.

Starting from the legend of Maria Incantada, the Jana who is said to live in the nuraghe of the same name, a story begins that involves the little ones in the mysterious world of the fascinating Sardinian fairies. «The main objective of this work – says Conconi – is to bring to the stage stories and characters that are part of our ancient tradition but which unfortunately today’s children know little about. Jana’s story then leads to the exploration of an entire magical universe full of narrative ideas and characters immersed in that friendly and teacher nature that always has something to teach.” In this story Jana meets, for example, Su Entu, Babborco, a cunning fox and many other characters who become companions on an adventurous journey into the world of friendship and brotherly love.
