If it is true that the initiative has received support at a local level even before it started, it is equally true that there is already a real rush for tickets to secure every single moment of the event (https://www.ticketone.it /artist/wine-music-green-festival/; info at 379.1514538), both from the oenological point of view and the shows on the programme, to seal the validity of the idea of the “Trasimeno Eventi” Association to organize the “Wine Music Green Festival ” the presentation of the details also arrived at the Rome headquarters of the Representation in Italy of the Parliament and the European Commission.

A sort of international recognition, also for the benefit of the many foreign tourists who have already begun to flock to the Trasimeno-Pievese area, arriving just a few days before the start of the event, whose ribbon cutting is scheduled for 6pm Friday 17 May in Città della Pieve, at the fascinating Palazzo della Corgna. Until Sunday 19 May the event will combine the world of wine with that of entertainment, culture, associations and gastronomy, not without forgetting the strong themes linked to the environment and its opportunities.

“This is a very important event that has all the basic characteristics of the lines traced by the European Union in terms of initiatives capable of enhancing tradition and combining differences in a general community perspective, of conveying green issues while respecting environmental peculiarities of the reference territory and to protect “Made in Italy” at 360 degrees”, said the Honorable MEP Francesca Peppucci in presenting the event. And in fact the occasion is an important one to draw attention to the best excellences of a very vast area between Umbria and Tuscany mixed with a varied range of proposals.

The program put together by the organizers of the “Trasimeno Eventi” Association was full of appointments and made use of the collaboration of Jean Luc Bertoni, Marco Pareti and Sara Tintori of RTN WEB Radio TV, local institutions, the Trasimeno-Orvietano GAL, the “Trasimeno-Corcianese” and “South-West Orvieto” Food Districts, of the AIS Umbria, of the URAT, of the Trasimeno Fishermen’s Cooperative of San Feliciano, of the Colli del Trasimeno Wine Route, of the “Rotary Club” Pievese, of the “Consorzio Zafferano di Città della Pieve” and of the “Umbria Green Festival”.

Not without forgetting the support of LTS Insurance-Generali Magione, Chiusi and Castiglione del Lago and many other entrepreneurial realities that have embraced the initiative, it will be possible to taste good wine, combining listening to quality music, some forays into the sector editorial, round tables on “green” issues to understand how to reduce our impact on the environment, poetic readings and captivating visits to the artistic beauties of the city surrounded by the natural beauty of a territory such as that of Chiana, Orvieto and Trasimeno.

In Città della Pieve, therefore, on the one hand it will be possible to taste many excellent wines from Umbria and those bordering on Tuscany both in the most suggestive city locations and during in-depth moments guided and curated by the Italian Sommelier Association and on the other, in some historic buildings in the ancient historic center you can also attend meetings and shows.

Around 25 local exhibiting wineries will be present at the “Wine Music Green Festival” together with some companies or associations of Umbrian excellence in terms of products or services, such as Pieve saffron, extra virgin olive oil, honey from the hills of Trasimeno and even beer, both that produced in the Trasimeno area and that of the Sisters of the Benedictine Monastery of Sant’Anna of Bastia Umbra who will present their own book of ancient monastic recipes, particularly appreciated thanks to a well-known television program dedicated to cooking.

“All this is the result of the great conceptual work of recent years between the various institutions, all determined to go in the same direction. The event – explains Francesca Caproni, Director of the Gal Trasimeno-Orvietano – represents a different way of telling the wonderful world of wine which for quality and quantity is our product par excellence, in the name of play and those that are the others components of promoting the territory, starting with environmental sustainability and the specificities of an important area such as that of Lake Trasimeno and Orvieto and the Roman Chiana. The hope is that many will come to savor, learn about and address these issues with playful awareness.”

Among the strong points, between one glass and another, of the three-day Pieve event are the city tour aimed at the great pictorial master Perugino and the spaces dedicated to craftsmanship linked to ceramics and associations, with the solidarity aspect first and foremost plan thanks to the contribution of the Misericordia of Città della Pieve and the “Terrarte” laboratory of Città della Pieve, a training and recreational association for disabled people to whom the local Rotary Club will deliver a certificate for the activity carried out.

Then, the winning combination with music: itinerant mini-concerts are planned in the afternoon through the streets of the village, while the official locations, where wine tastings can be carried out before the performances, will be the Perugian Fortress for the concerts of the Trio Bourbon and the Teatro degli Valoranti for those of the Lino Patruno Jazz Band, of “Sonidumbra” and “Lapa Nova Bossa”. Finally, there is also space for multimedia with the “launch” of a video-story (which will also be distributed in schools on paper) of the story “Tino and Tinella with friends in the cellar”, created by the 3D artist Matteo Girolami based on texts by Marco Pareti himself. Games are also scheduled for visitors, both families and four-legged friends, close to the stands thanks to the collaboration with the Hotel Vannucci and Vitakraft Italia.
