Although for some time now we have witnessed the helpless escape of many capable and brilliant young people, I firmly believe that politics must create all the conditions for some of them to remain in our city to enrich and improve it. It is not a simple challenge, but our vision must represent a long-term and prospective work. To do this, we need to create an environment conducive to the protagonism of young people and create a city that contains (and not excludes) their creativitytheir powertheir dreams. All this, therefore, will have to materialize in greater education of the young generations, in a better quality of their free time and in the creation of possibilities – including material ones – to get together, be together, create”.
The candidate for mayor of “Together for Manfredonia” says this in a note. Domenico La Marca.
“For these reasons I have in mind, in the first hundred days of my mandate as Mayor, to rdeliver the LUC, the urban cultural laboratory named after Peppino Impastato, the city and its young people. That container, born thanks to the generative vision of Guglielmo Minervini’s youth policies, has betrayed its nature and functionality for too long.”
“The Municipality of Manfredonia, among other initiatives on the topic, will also join ‘It can be done’, a methodology of youth involvement and community activism which, thanks to the pilot project financed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, enhances ideas and projects of young people. This measure, already active in fourteen Italian regions (including Puglia), will help us support the entrepreneurial initiatives of younger people also thanks to the support and local work offered by some local partners”.
