Municipality of Pesaro: Dancing memories on the sea!

It opens this week Dancing memories on the sea, Hangartfest project for the section of the Pesaro 2024 dossier dedicated to mobile nature of culturecurated by the choreographer Stefano Mazzotta and created with the musical consultancy of the ethnomusicologist Thomas Bertuccioli.

The initiative involves, in addition to the dancers of the Zerogram Company, the communities of the provincial territory, people of all ages and backgrounds, with or without dance experience, in a choral process of connection between the musical traditions of the Marche and contemporary dance.

The path of research and participatory practice will start from the valleys of the Metauro, Cesano and Foglia rivers to reach the sea, through a series of workshops that will culminate in the dancing parties open to the public in the villages of Belforte all’Isauro (19 May), Mondavio (May 25), Borgo Pace (June 1st) e Pesaro (September 1st).

“The essence of the project – explains Antonio Cioffi, Artistic director of Hangartfest – sit could be summed up in the desire to create connections on multiple levels: between past and present and between generations, putting the traditional music of a territory in dialogue with the contemporary gaze of dance, and between the places of the hinterland with those of the coast, activating an identity path of belonging and sharing.”

There first dance party is scheduled for Sunday 19 May at 3.00pm in Piazza Chiesa San Lorenzo di Belforte all’Isauro. The sounds of the Viva el Ball group directed by Thomas Bertuccioli and the dancers of Zerograms under the guidance of Stefano Mazzotta. For those wishing to join, the first meeting with the village community is set for Wednesday 15 May, at 7.00 pm, in via Roma.
