A witness told Palermo Today: “It was impressive, the horse released the bridle of the carriage to which it was attached and began its run. He was going at full speed and the people who were on the street suddenly had to move so as not to get overwhelmed. Police cars intervened and conducted investigations about what happened.”

I immediately went to the site and coordinated the intervention of the veterinary service of the ASP and the Municipal Police”, wrote councilor Ferrandelli in a post on Facebook.
“Enough! Enough squatters! The owner was fined and the horse was given all the necessary care. However, we need to tighten the circle and put a stop while also thinking about animal welfare putting an end to exploitation. Zero tolerance,” he added.
“In Palermo the State does not exist. Horses under the sun, exploited, in the total indifference of the authorities.
