Bergamo Court and Prosecutor’s Office, protesting staff

A demonstration saw the workers of the administrative offices of the Court of Bergamo as protagonists, who were also joined by those of the Prosecutor’s Office, on the morning of Wednesday 8 May, in front of the Prefecture in via Tasso. About a hundred protested against the unilateral changes to working hours and to denounce, we read in a joint note from FP-CGIL, CISL-FP, FLP and USB, various problems related to inadequate salariesdue to the high cost of living, unprofitable additional wages, lack of training, safety, tasks and procedures.

During the demonstration, a delegation of workers and trade unionists was received by the vice prefect Marisa Amabile: «We explained – they explain – our reasons, as we already did last March 22, without however having received responses from the Ministry. We asked the vice prefect to act as an intermediary at the Ministry of Justice, but this time also at the Presidency of the Council, presenting our grievances», explained Leopoldo Chiummo for Fp-Cgil, Francesca Mezzanotte for Flp and Antonello Solimeno for Usb Pubblico Impiego, with the RSU delegates of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office.

It should be remembered that the administrative staff of the Bergamo Court has been in a state of agitation since January 30th. A protest that began due to the management’s unilateral modification of an agreement, signed in 2017, which provided for the authorization of 9 hours per month of surplus time that could be used, by the hour or for the whole day, within the following month . The management decided to reduce the possibilities of accumulation, triggering the protest. Already on March 22, a meeting had been held in the Prefecture, in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Justice: according to the unions, it had been assured that Rome would carry out checks on the legitimacy of the agreementwith the request for suspension of the same pending news, but the request was negative.
