CROTONE – An afternoon that began in an eventful way ended, fortunately, without serious consequences or damage, and with the arrest of a 48-year-old man (GG) and a 43-year-old woman (DMM), both residents of Sicily, in Ragusano, for resisting a public official and illegal possession of weapons.
The two were traveling in a car, with the woman’s two daughters, aged 15 and 10, when they were stopped by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile del Nor of the Crotone Company for a routine check on Via Miscello da Ripe. Their attitude made the soldiers suspicious, and while the patrol was carrying out further investigations, the woman behind the wheel locked the car from inside, started it again and tried to drive away. The escape attempt was interrupted after about a kilometre, thanks also to the support of another Radiomobile crew.
Once again stopped, the two continued to resist, forcing the military to break the front window of the car to extract the woman and the minors, and then the man for whom it was necessary to use pepper spray. The search, conducted on both, allowed us to find two large knives in their immediate availability. The two were transported to prison, at the disposal of the judicial authority, the minors were entrusted to the social services of the Municipality of Crotone.
