Bergamo. A crazy escape on a scooter, in broad daylight, along pedestrian streets, risking endangering his life and that of the people who, just before 5pm on Monday 6 May, were walking calmly in via Tasso in Seriate.

Shortly before, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of Bergamo had noticed the moped passing in via Celadina and, recognizing the vehicle because it had already been noticed in drug dealing activities, they ordered to stop.

The man on the bike did not stop, he ran away at high speed towards Seriate, entering the pedestrian area against traffic. The soldiers reached him and he slipped and ended up against the wall to avoid them. But he got up and fled on foot, chased by the police for over two kilometres. He was finally stopped and searched: in a cigarette case he had a dose of cocaine and 300 euros in his pocket.

His wrists were handcuffed for resisting a public official. BO, a 34-year-old Tunisian, was accompanied to court on Tuesday morning: his arrest was validated and he was banned from staying in Bergamo and its province.

The trial was postponed to May 14.
